is my baby teething this early???

Hi im after some advise re my baby daughter that is 11wks old tomor.... She has become more fussy and clingy and are crying more at night and it is not for food yet she screams like she is in pain however she will chew her fingers or other but not the breast?. She is dribbling a hell of a lot. She has suddenly started chewing on her fingers and also on a teething toy when i tried this. Sometimes she is demanding the breast more and other times she rejects the breast. She is not sleeping as well. Im not sure what this is - some people r saying she may be teething?? but i thought she was too young for this??

my son was exactly the same way, i took him to his GP and he will be 4 months on the 12th buthe already has his first bottom tooth coming through. it's not so hard to believe.

Hey its possible that she is teething but i would take her to see your maternal heath nurse just to be sure as it is early and what harm can it do to take her :) good luck :)

my son was born with a tooth so i really neaver had problems with teething as he has his second tooth at 3 months then at 6 months he had 5 teeth then by a yr old he had a full set of choppers. i think u young ones mouth is just preparing for teeth,, so her gums is probably stretching preapring for the teeth..try getting teething ring that u can put in fridge and freezer it will ease the pain in her gums.

My daughter cut her first tooth at 15 weeks, so you can imagine the process must start several weeks earlier. From there she proceeded to get her full set by 9 months. Yet my son didn't start teething until he was nearly 7 months. If you find anything that helps with the pain ie chilled rings, rusks etc. just go with it.

Interesting - my little girl is now 10 weeks old and she has started fussing and crying for no reason and dribbling a lot - I asked the same question - never realised they could start teething so early - but my sister had a girl who was teething and got her first tooth at 9 weeks - so I'm guessing it could be teething!!

My little boy is almost 4 months and he is doing the same.. only i can see the teeth threw his gums and they are now very red. we have just given him a teething ring when he gets restless and i give him some childrens panodol before bed to help him through the night. I'm not to sure what else to do for the pain because he is to young for the bonjella. any suggestions?

my little man is 17 weeks and been dribbling to no end for the last 3 weeks, he saturates at least 3 bibs a day!! last couple of days he hasnt been sleeping through the night like he usually does and doesnt want any thing but something to chew or suck on.. and randomly cries during the day! And he barely ever cries(no exaggeration) i have definately put this down to teething but there are no red areas o swelling in the mouth?? hopefully it doesnt drag on too much, poor [censored] :)

wow...my son is 12 weeks and he is going through the same as ur little bub, i have been wondering the same thing...teeth??? though there is no sign of any he is normally a very content little man...last three days he has been dribbling ,chewing on his hands, clingy, restless sleeper, doesnt want his dummy and pulls his bottom lip up and cries !!its definately not wind and its not the tired cry..i think we might have some toothy pegs giving our bubs a hard time!

my son was teething from 4wks, and his teeth didnt pop out for months!!

Try chilled teethers. You cant use bongela til about 4months as far as i can remember. If she is very distressed you can give some panadol to settle her.

my little one is 7mths and he started teething at 3months it went on for so long he finally got a tooth a couple of days ago but yeah all the signs of teething yet they don't get the teeth poor things. My little one had the teeth show up a faint white line 5 times but they never broke through. Just hang in there and remember they are in pain and just trying to tell you the only way they know how. Put bonjela or any teething gel in the fridge it's very soothing when it goes on cold and helps that little bit more.

hey, well i have an eleven month old little boy and he has 14 teeth. 6 front top teeth, 4 front bottom teeth and 4 molars. He got his first tooth when he was 5 months. Poor little thing just hasn't really stopped teething since he started.

my 8 month old has already got 7 teeth, he got his first four (top and bottom) at 5 months. A few of the babies in my mothers group don't have teeth at all yet, and I know one baby who was born with a tooth, so it is totally random.

both of my kids started doing everything you're saying at that age. one got his first tooth at 6 months (he's 2 1/2 now and has all his teeth) and the other has 2 lumps just waiting to come through (she's 5 months). its seems to be a stage they go through

Hello my little man is 10weeks and is also doing the same things i checked for teeth as i thought it was a little early i coulnt see any i find if i put a teething ring in the fridge this helps to calm him down, he has also gone from sleeping all night to waking up a few times im hoping its just a stage. If it is teeth you will no soon enough.
