What equipment do I need?

Equipment to help with the introduction to solid foods

You'll probably have most of what you need in the house, but there are a few things that'll come in handy:

  • First feeding spoons. These are plastic or plastic coated spoons, small and shallow enough for a little mouth and kinder on gums and teeth.
  • A colourful plastic bowl, preferably with a suction cap on the base which helps to prevent upsets!
  • Bibs and clean cloths
  • A food blender/processor is invaluable for mixing baby food
  • Bendy ice-trays for storing baby portions
  • A plastic tablecloth/mat
